Founder & Lead Attorney

 

I am the founder and lead attorney of Sierra Hägg Attorney at Law LLC, a family law firm based in Hilo, Hawaii. As a single mother with sole custody of my three young children, I intimately understand the emotional and legal complexities of custody battles, divorce, and the fight for a better future. My mission is to help my clients transform their pain into power—navigating the legal system with strength, clarity, and the confidence to move forward.

 

My calling to family law stems from my own experiences. My parents’ divorce lasted nearly a decade, exposing me early on to the complexities of the legal process. Later in life, I faced my own challenges in difficult relationships, but breaking free and building my firm became the turning point that reaffirmed my self-worth and purpose.

 

I am deeply committed to helping my clients escape toxic relationships, reclaim their stability, and create a life filled with possibility. At Sierra Hägg Attorney at Law LLC, we don’t just fight legal battles—we empower our clients to rise above them.

I am proud to join Sierra Hägg Attorney at Law, LLC and contribute to a team of honest, committed professionals who prioritize quality client service. As a Paralegal with 30 years of experience across six state courts, appellate courts, and federal courts, I bring a wealth of legal knowledge and dedication to my role. For the past 12 years, I have focused on Family Law in the State of Hawai‘i, working in private practice, non-profit legal services, state service, and as a court clerk in the Family Law Division of the Third Circuit.

 

My passion for the legal field began at a young age, and I find the most rewarding part of my work is guiding clients through what can often be a confusing and overwhelming legal system. I am especially drawn to Family Law because I believe that providing calm, stable, and informed support during challenging times can have a deeply positive impact on both individuals and the broader community. Outside of work,

 

I enjoy spending time with my two adult children and friends, exploring nature through hiking, biking, gardening, and anything involving the ocean. I also love reading, music, and connecting with animals. I strive to live by the Hawaiian value of kina‘ole—doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time.

Kelli Chavez

Billing Specialist

I currently wear two hats at Sierra Hägg Attorney at Law, LLC—as Office Assistant and Billing Specialist. With a lifelong love of numbers and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, I spent 15 years in Loan Operations for a community bank before bringing that experience into the legal field. I truly enjoy being able to carry over my financial background into Sierra's business, where my roles allow me to stay connected to the world of finance, engage with clients, and help maintain a welcoming and efficient front office.

Legal matters can often come with challenges, and I’m proud to be part of a team that supports clients through those difficult times with compassion and professionalism. While technology has made so many things easier, I still value the simple moments—like when clients stop by just to check in and say hello. I enjoy those personal connections and catching up on the day-to-day.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mother and wife, continually striving to grow and excel in my legal career.

My role has allowed me to specialize in case management, client communication, and document preparation, and I take pride in helping ensure every aspect of our work runs smoothly and efficiently.

 

What I love most about the legal field is the opportunity to help people through meaningful, and often challenging, moments in their lives. Being a steady, trustworthy presence for our clients and contributing to a team that makes a real impact is what motivates me every day.

 

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I value balance, connection, and bringing a calm, focused energy into everything I do.
